Kicking off Fall

College football season officially started August 31 {for us.} The enjoyable games are now underway...

Cool temps and a nice breeze are two things I am very grateful for right now. Fall is without a doubt my most favorite time of year! Autumn in the Ozarks is much more beautiful than Autumn in the Delta. I believe that just being "from the Delta" is unique and gives one character. However, I appreciate the beauty of Autumn in Northwest Arkansas very much. Red and orange leaves, pumpkins, warm fuzzy sweaters, hot apple cider, and an outdoor fire.
This weekend we had ah-mazing Fall weather to enjoy! We hosted Supper Club at our casa Saturday so Friday night the hubs and I got all of our shopping done in preparation for Supper Club. I found a short and wide pumpkin with a flat top {my favorite size of pumpkin!}. It is a neat white pumpkin with orange veins going through it. Saturday we spent the day cleaning house with the windows open {ahhhh}. I love having the windows open in the house and feeling a cool breeze blow throughout! We munched on Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip while watching football {will post recipe below} and cooked a huge pot of chili. Saturday night we lit a fire in the fire pit and hooked up our tailgate TV on the patio. The boys watched the LSU game and drowned their sorrows with their beverage of choice while trying to recover from the horrible loss experienced by the Hogs. We had chili dogs, frito pie, and lots of yummy dips and desserts. It was perfect for the {48} degree weather.

Sunday it was so beautiful! I loved sitting in church with sun beams streaming through the tall windows, across the white walls and through the stained glass windows. It was beautiful. After church we had yummy Feltner's burgers {and my favorite onion rings} with The Teeters. After lunch we ran a few errands before finally relaxxxing on the couch for a bit! Gotta take advantage of time spent with my {hunter.} Our time together is about to get cut short for the next six months, which means lots of crafting time for me.

Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip:
1/2 bottle Blue Cheese Dressing
2 8oz packages Cream Cheese
2 cans White Chunk Chicken
1/2 bottle Frank's Hot Wing Sauce

Let cream cheese set at room temperature until softened. Combine all ingredients together in 8x8 casserole dish. Add more/less Frank's Hot Wing Sauce depending on how spicy you want yours. I use about 1/2 the bottle. Serve with Tostito's or Frito's. Enjoy!

I'm Mary Beth. It's nice to meet you.....

I am new to blogging so try to cut me a little slack :)
I normally won't talk about myself too much but I feel that it's appropriate considering this is my first post and it is possible that we have never met. I will mainly post about my life, the things I love, hate, and everything in between. I hope you enjoy!
I am a wife to Doug, momma to a sweet chocolate lab named Duke, and small business owner. {Yes I call Doug Duke and Duke Doug on occasion.} I am a Southerner and I believe that family is most important. That is what my momma says anyway. I love accents and meeting new people.

This weekend my husband and I got to spend time with some of our favorites - The Srygleys and The Teeters. We cooked dinner and got to catch up on each others lives which is always nice. For dinner we had shrimp and grits, one of my favorite dishes. Don't worry we are good girls and left the bacon out because it is Lent and yesterday was Friday. I made banana pudding for dessert so needless to say that's what I will be having for breakfast (and dessert) for the next couple of days because it always makes so much. Oh how I love dessert for breakfast. Yum!

I found the perfect recipe and will share with you: It is a modified Paula Dean recipe. No chessman's cookies or redonkulous amounts of bananas in it.
This is the blog where I found the recipe:
http://pearls-handcuffs-happyhour.blogspot.com/2010/06/momma-didnt-make-it-like-this.html

Not Yo Mama's Banana Pudding
4 Bananas
3 cups milk
1 box nilla wafers
2 boxes french vanilla pudding
1 12oz container coop whip
1 14 oz can condensed milk
1 8oz package cream cheese

It's super easy and anyone can make this! {I love delicious but easy recipes}
Make pudding in a large bowl = (pudding + milk)
In a separate large bowl mix condensed milk, cream cheese and cool whip.
Combine the two together and mix well.
Layer half the nilla cookies in a dish, layer half bananas on top of the cookies. Pour the mixture on top and layer top with the rest of the nilla wafers.
Enjoy!
